Irinka Roopnarain began work as a physiotherapist from 1993 and worked in South Africa initially, then in the UK between 1996-2006, gaining a broad base of experience in orthopaedic/sports physiotherapy. Her treatment emphasis is on finding the root cause of symptoms, and addressing dysfunctions rather than symptomatic treatments. Irinka integrates movement control principles in her treatments. This involves isolating specific postural/movement faults and muscle imbalances that lead to chronic pain and dysfunction.
Actual therapy involves, joint and muscle mobilizations, exercise prescription, postural and ergonomic advice. Use of dry needling, trigger point therapy and craniosacral therapy are additional modalities.
